Symcor has been named as one of Canada’s most Innovative HR Teams by Canadian HR Reporter. The 2021 Innovative HR Teams list recognizes HR teams that are agile, bold, and forward-thinking in their people strategies. It identifies HR teams that are breaking boundaries to move the HR industry forward in a year marked by great change and disruption. Entries were invited for initiatives introduced and results achieved during 2020. Symcor joins organizations such as BMO Financial Group, RBC, Sun Life, Microsoft Canada, National Bank of Canada, and Telus among others on the winners list of Innovative HR Teams 2021.
Deemed an essential service, the majority of Symcor’s employees in Canada have worked on-site throughout the pandemic, with strict protocols in effect for their health and safety while another segment has been working remotely since early 2020. Keeping Symcor’s diverse employee base engaged, connected, and informed during this time has been critical in supporting their overall well-being.
When the pandemic hit, Symcor’s HR team, in partnership with Marketing, rose to the challenge with ingenuity and innovation, launching an enterprise-wide internal campaign titled Symcor STRONG. Through virtual activities and site-based initiatives, the Symcor STRONG campaign fostered connections and camaraderie during a time of physical distancing.
It encouraged employees to share their experiences, learnings, and stories of strength and resilience to inspire one another. From talent shows, cooking demonstrations, self-care tips to life hacks, the One Symcor spirit has shone brighter than ever in the Symcor STRONG campaign that continues with equal vigour and passion in 2021, with its evolution into Symcor STRONGER.
